Gary Sweeney, Lead Advisor

Gary is the Founder and Lead Independent Advisor of Altus and is responsible for clients, people, and financial performance over the past 19 years. Prior to starting our professional service firm to tackle and solve clients’ most complex problems, he spent 20 years with Royal Mail Group. He served 10 years at a senior level leading significant multi-million-dollar transformation programmes.

Gary is a charismatic leader who achieves results through a vast network of senior executives and experts in the postal and courier markets. He has built a reputation as the “go-to expert” in the industry and it is a testament that he has grown Altus into a leading professional services firm. Gary has 39 years of experience in the postal and courier markets with an illustrious career.

Alastair Taylor, Head of Print & Post

Alastair Taylor is our Head of Print & Post and business intelligence expert and is lead on postal and courier analytics. He is a seasoned and well-respected consultant, helping clients across the print, postal and courier industries achieve market evaluate, maximise and scale business value through the strategic application of data, advanced analytics, intelligence and automation. Alastair is responsible for our professional services intelligence strategy, business growth, industry-specific solutions and spearhead’s the Altus data services portfolio.

Alastair is experienced in postal regulation, compliance, governance and consultative studies. His knowledge covers supply chain operations, manufacturing, distribution and customer experience – leveraging advanced analytics.

Michael McNally, Senior Consultant

Michael has been an innovator for international cross border e-commerce since 2002. He has a vast knowledge of the global cross border postal, courier and logistics industries, having served as Jersey Post’s Head of International Development. Michael has held directorships of postal and logistics businesses in the UK and Europe. He has sat on the PostEurop Customs working group and represented postal operators at the Universal Postal Union (UPU).

Michael understands the importance of acknowledging and working with culturally different organisations and territories, he has worked extensively across the globe, setting up operational facilities. He has advised postal operators globally on large-scale transformation programmes.

Ian Bett, ACMA, GCMA, Senior Consultant

Ian is a qualified accountant with over 40 years’ experience within the postal and courier industry. Ian’s experience in finance, business transformation and performance management has led to him being recognised as a subject matter expert. He spent the majority of his career in Royal Mail Group in senior operational and finance leadership roles, during its transformation journey to become a listed company on the UK stock exchange.

Since leaving Royal Mail he has acted as an independent consultant for both postal industry operators and regulators. He has served as Head of Finance Transformation for Qatar Post and has been finance lead on all aspects of end-to-end integrated change management programmes across entire postal services organisations.

Stephen Agar

Stephen Agar, Senior Consultant

Stephen is an entrepreneurial leader with an outstanding track record in postal and courier industry major transformations.

Prior to leaving Royal Mail, Stephen served as the Managing Director of Royal Mail’s Letters division, accountable for $4bn+ per annum of revenue and covering all product areas e.g. letters, wholesale letters and parcels, philatelic and data products. Since 2006 Stephen held a variety of other roles at Managing Director level, all reporting to the Group CEO as well as a few years as Regulatory Affairs Director, responsible for creating Downstream Access and the relationship with Postcomm.

Stephen holds two law degrees from Wadham College, Oxford and is a qualified Barrister.

Marc Donnelly Non-Executive Director

Business leader with extensive sales experience in the technology and internet industry
working with start-ups, growth companies and large corporates. Acts in an advisory
capacity helping Altus on the go-to market expansion strategy, sales enablement, and
digital transformation.

Before working with Altus, Marc was Managing Director at Cisco, a leader in networking
for the internet, and before that held several senior management positions in start-up
technology companies.

Assisting Altus in direct sales into global enterprise, commercial and service provider
markets. Marc is experience in multiple business cultures across continental Europe,
Middle East, North America, and Japan.

Lynne Buist

Lynne Buist, Head of Accounts

Lynne effectively monitors team performance in relation to client relationships. She oversees the accounts team and supports the day-to-day customer requirements, ensuring SLA’s, KPI’s, and client satisfaction levels are met. As our customer-centric lead, she performs regular customer communications to ensure we stay on track with our relationships across the board. Lynne takes a pragmatic and systematic approach and enjoys getting involved in business intelligence and data analytic projects.
